Thursday, 20 September, 2018 marked the Berkeley Club of France's kickoff event at bar-club Gatsby. The team welcomed new alumni and friends of UC Berkeley and presented upcoming events and activities for bears in Paris.
In attendance, there were, among others, an LLM student, a young entrepreneur, a teacher, a journalist, and engineers who met, shared stories of UC Berkeley and engaged in a conversation around drinks and cocktails.
We were pleased to present our "house" events - "Verre des Bears" happy hour, "Big Give" fundraising and "Big Game" pub screening - and introduced our brand new activities - "Running with Bears" (Sunday morning run) and "Bears' Night at the Movies" (Sunday night movie).
What's more, the venue, named after The Great Gatsby, a novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, was the closest we found to traveling back to the 1920’s and a very nice place to where you can mix American Literature with French wine.
